The Provincial Food Network is developing a more direct community-based system of food production and education.
We are working on a province-wide system for food aggregation, storage and distribution.
The Earth Sheltered Greenhouse is a marriage between the root cellar and the standard greenhouse for growing in cold climates.
Our 2022 survey confirmed farmers, gardeners, foragers, fishers, and hunters are producing millions of pounds of local food.

An annual event for exchange of seeds, plants, tools, and books at the MUN Botanical Garden.
Food Producers Forum partnered with six rural sites across our province to help design Earth Sheltered Greenhouses.
An online conference focused on the climate crisis, food insecurity, and how to build a sustainable food system in Newfoundland & Labrador.
A series of television and radio profiles of local food producers across our province was developed in collaboration with CBC.
In 2021, the Guerilla Garlic Gardeners worked with single parents in St. John’s to create raised bed gardens for home food production.
This online map showed where to find local food. It has been replaced by the 'Find Local Food' section in our current website.
