Composting 101



Some people believe that composting is too complicated, smells too bad, takes too much time to accomplish, and that it is overall a very messy affair. This is untrue, as it is in fact quite easy and quick to make your own compost if you know how to do it.

Debbie Wiseman is an activist, web developer and food animator from St. John's. She serves on the board of the St. John's Food Policy Council. the Social Justice Co-op of NL and Happy City St. John's. In 2020, she co-founded the not-for-profit Sharing The Harvest NL, and lobbied the provincial government to change legislation to allow hunters to donate moose and caribou meat to food banks. She is an advocate for poverty reduction, food security, active transit and reducing waste.
